Does canned water contain preservatives?

Under normal circumstances, water dew cans should not need to add preservatives, because they are basically sterilized after being filled and sealed. In this way, the cans are sealed after sterilization and the inside is sterile.

Preservatives refer to synthetic chemical components that are used to add food, medicines, pigments, biological specimens, etc., to delay the growth of microorganisms or corruption caused by chemical changes.

The purpose of anti-corrosion is twofold, one is to prevent corruption caused by microorganisms, and the other is corruption caused by chemical changes. In the production process of cans, it is necessary to go through processing, canning, exhaust, sealing, heat sterilization, and cooling. Its processing technology has achieved the purpose of sterilization and airtight anticorrosion, so there is no need to add preservatives. At the same time, according to the GB2760 2014 National Food Safety Standard Food Additives Use Standard, benzoic acid and sorbic acid are not allowed to be added to canned water.

The preservatives allowed by the state are listed in GB 2760. Please refer to the GB 2760-2014 National Food Safety Standard Food Additives Use Standard. As long as they are added in accordance with the types and limits of this standard, they are legal and considered safe.
